Hey! What’s up?! I’m Shelby and I’m a hairstylist and extension specialist located in downtown Crystal Lake, IL. I have been in the hair industry since 2017 and love that I get the opportunity to be creative every day. I specialize in surf balayage, blondes, lived-in color, and hand-tied weft extensions. I believe in capturing my clients natural beauty and highlighting it.
People always ask why I became a hairstylist. We can all thank my grandma for that one. I grew up in my grandma’s salon washing out perms, handing out magazines, and cleaning the hair out of the brushes. Watching her as I grew up, I knew I wanted to do something in the field. Not knowing what I wanted to do right out of high school, I decided why not go to cosmetology school. And here we are now!
I grew up in a small town on the coast of North Carolina. I married my husband in 2019 and moved to Crystal Lake nine months later. Although I love the Midwest, I felt like I was just missing something so I decided to bring the beach with me and put it in my craft.

I’m the proud dog mom of three pups named Hurley, Rosie, + Daisy— a 14 year old red heeler and two 3 year old border collies. Lots of energy!
During the summer, you can find my husband and I on the lake, usually with a classic salt rimmed margarita in hand.
While I’m not working, I’m usually at a Harry Styles or Taylor Swift concert, painting paint by numbers, or planning parties for any reason I can come up with.
